About the AP Exams

SpiderSmart

How it works

The Advanced Placement Exams are college-level exams on specific subjects taken upon completion of an AP course taken in high school. AP Exams are administered during a two-week period in May. There are 38 AP Exams that cover a broad range of subjects from Biology to English Literature to Economics. AP scores do not affect high school GPA or college admissions decisions, but good AP scores can earn college credit. Exams are scored on a scale of 1-5. Since every college is different, please be sure to check with each school’s AP score policy.
