SpiderSmart for Home Schoolers
SpiderSmart’s online Reading and Writing Program is almost tailor-made for home schooled students and parents who wish to help their children in learning critical skills. SpiderSmart is an established reading and writing program that offers:
- Individual feedback on students’ writing.
- Parental access to their child’s writing, as well as to the teacher’s comments.
- Secure access to SpiderSmart’s innovative website.
- A flexible course that includes an overall progress report.
- Specific assignments for every book from our library of 1,500 books.

To better accommodate our Home schooled students, SpiderSmart offers a 3-Month Course with these flexible features:
- You choose your own books, three books at a time.
- Read and work on nine books within the three months.
- Take as little or as much time as necessary to complete assignments.
- Order books from us or get them yourself for credit.
- Start a SpiderSmart 3-Month Course at any time.
- Continue the courses year-round.
The tuition for a 3-Month Course (Family or Independent) is $270. This includes the cost of nine books and shipping. Parents may get the books from the library or from a bookseller, and the savings will be credited back to parents at the end of the course.
The SpiderSmart process is simple:
- An assessment test determines the student skill level (1 through 12).
- Each level contains hundreds of books from which to choose.
- Students select three books; assignments are immediately accessible.
- Books are shipped to arrive within three business days.
Students wishing to strive harder can work on as many online stories as they can or move onto the next 3-Month Course earlier. Students that find reading all nine books difficult will be credited for any remaining books if they enroll for the next three months; otherwise, we offer a grace period of one month to finish the assignments.
Parents will enjoy assisting their children in selecting books, answering questions, and understanding the teacher’s feedback. Those parents who do not have time to assist can rest assured that assistance is not required, and many students relish the process of choosing their new books and studying their teacher’s latest comments. Parents can check on their children’s progress any time online, communicate directly with teachers through emails, and receive a full evaluation report at the end of each course.
